PLENARY MEETING of the EUROCARE WORKING GROUP

In the recent meeting in Utrecht on December 12th 2008, the EUROCARE Steering Committee agreed to hold a EUROCARE Plenary Meeting as follows:

Program: Arrival on Tuesday, the 10^th (afternoon) registration, presentation of the meeting,dinner

Full day meeting on Wednesday, the 11^th

Half day meeting on Thursday, the 12^th

The main aim of the this Plenary Meeting is to discuss on the modalities of kick-starting the EUROCARE 5 project. The meeting will therefore concentrate on:

To agree on a protocol for data collection and basic analyses for the EUROCARE-5 project which will include patients diagnosed after 2000
To agree on a study protocol for the EUROCARE-5 High resolution studies
To discuss experiences on survival analysis from the European registries
To promote new data analyses methods on cancer survival and prevalence
To communicate the EUROCARE results to national and European Union Public Health stakeholders;
To discuss the coordination of EUROCARE with other European projects on cancer

For this important event, we have secured funds to sponsor one participant from each of the EUROCARE Registries.It is up to the registries to choose their representative at this meeting. We would however like to receive the contact details of all representatives ASAP in order to allow us to proceed with all practical aspects regarding their attendance.

Attached is a travel info sheet that all those representing their registries/institutions to the Plenary Meeting should complete and send back to the EUROCARE secretary (Samba.Sowe@istitutotumori.mi.it).

All completed sheets will be sent to a travel agency in Genova which will send you a pre-paid electronic ticket (ticket details will be e-mailed to you) based on your indications in the sheet.
